A MUJI retail shop will also be included, aiming to support the daily lives of inpatients, visitors, and local residents.
Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; President: Satoshi Shimizu) will open its first-ever hospital-based store, “Café&Meal MUJI St. Marianna University School of Medicine Hospital Entrance Building,” on January 6, 2025. Located in the newly constructed entrance building of St. Marianna University School of Medicine Hospital (Kawasaki City, Kanagawa; Director: Takeshito Ōtsubo), the store features a café-restaurant and an adjacent MUJI retail shop.
Features of “Café&Meal MUJI”
The decision to open this store aligns with the hospital’s goal of creating a “health and medical community center that connects with local residents,” which matches Ryohin Keikaku’s vision. Under the theme “Simple Food is Delicious,” the café offers healthy and delicious seasonal dishes that highlight the natural flavors of fresh ingredients. One of the key offerings is the “Seasonal Fermented Meal Set” developed in collaboration with nutritionists, designed to be both tasty and gentle on the body.
MUJI Retail Shop
The adjacent MUJI retail shop provides a wide range of products, including clothing, daily necessities, and food. Items such as flannel pajamas, loungewear, and innerwear are available to enhance the comfort of inpatients and can also be used after discharge, supporting daily life.
Purpose and Services
The new store aims to alleviate the inconveniences of hospital life and provide comfort and relaxation to patients, their families, medical staff, and local residents. By offering meals and products, Ryohin Keikaku seeks to contribute to the well-being of the local community through its thoughtful services.
