Rice Burgers Offer a Convenient Way to Enjoy Both Rice and Toppings Together, Easily Prepared in the Microwave

Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd. (President: Nobuo Domae, headquartered in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo) will launch a new frozen rice burger series nationwide in MUJI stores and through its online store starting on Wednesday, October 9.

The frozen rice burgers were developed with inspiration from popular dishes in Korea, Thailand, and Taiwan, offering three flavors: “Bulgogi,” “Gapao,” and “Lu Rou Fan.” These dishes, which can be somewhat time-consuming to prepare at home, have been conveniently turned into individually packaged rice burgers. Each product comes in a pack of two, priced at 490 yen (excluding tax).

The “Bulgogi” rice burger features Korean-style grilled beef “Bulgogi” sandwiched between rice buns made with black rice. The filling includes beef seasoned in a sweet and spicy sauce, combined with onions, bell peppers, and carrots.

Since 2018, MUJI has been offering a range of frozen foods, including popular items like kimbap, karaage, and meal kits prepared in a frying pan, covering everything from main dishes to side dishes. Rice-based meals, such as kimbap and onigiri, have been particularly well-received by customers. In response to a desire to provide even more delicious ways to enjoy rice, MUJI has developed a new rice series.

The newly launched rice burgers combine rice with various toppings, inspired by dishes from different countries, and can be easily heated in the microwave. These meals, which can be somewhat time-consuming to prepare at home, are individually packaged as rice burgers, allowing for convenient, single-serving preparation. They are perfect for a quick and easy meal at home or on the go.
