On April 5, 2024, the Tokyo area greeted full bloom of cherry blossoms. In Japan, there’s a cultural tradition known as “hanami,” where people enjoy picnics or drinks under cherry blossom trees. To coincide with this, since around February, various limited-time products with cherry blossom themes have been appearing in supermarkets, convenience stores, Starbucks, and other places. These products feature cherry blossom flavors and designs that evoke the arrival of spring, with a wide range of offerings from sweets to drinks.
Starbucks has been strengthening its lineup of limited-time products, and of course, they have introduced cherry blossom flavors as well. The concept for the 2024 SAKURA series at Starbucks is “CHEERS to SAKURA.” It evokes an image of being under fully bloomed cherry blossoms, laughing wholeheartedly, drinking, eating, and feeling overflowing with energy, making hearts flutter with excitement.
At various convenience stores, there are also a variety of products with cherry blossom themes such as desserts, mochi, pancakes, and more.
Please note that Martner’s Business Report Seasonal Program 2024 will be released in the second week of April 2024. Stay tuned for updates!
